SASA's Manifesto
We believe the world, and individuals need creativity. We believe access to the arts is a basic right for everyone, especially our children – no matter background, age or life experience.
Young people are weighed down like never before by the pressures of what they should look like, eat, wear, experience, or indeed what they should be.
We believe creativity through performance enables us to share what it is to be human; to innovate, problem solve, connect with each other and ourselves. Creativity is not passive, but active – allowing us to explore, listen, communicate, stimulate, motivate and inspire. It fuels energy, builds resilience and broadens perspective, nurturing a sense of togetherness.
We believe that individual potential is realised when people have the space and environment to become their unique and true selves. This authentic approach is transformational for many of our students, providing direction and purpose to those who feel lost or unsure.
And if transformation is the outcome, then opening minds and believing that ‘anything is possible’ is the route.
This is why SASA will work tirelessly to collaborate in providing supportive safe spaces to ensure ALL young people, regardless of background or experience, can create and perform. We will push endlessly to provide nurturing environments, experiences and opportunities that allow our young people to step into themselves fully and become who they have the potential to be.
It’s why … we will create transformational experiences and opportunities through inclusive performance and creativity; for individuals, families and communities. Moments that will be remembered forever.
